Presentation and Award Update- February 2014

On February 6th, Taryn Travis, MD gave two podium presentations at the 9th Annual Academic Surgical Congress in San Diego, CA. The research presented was entitled “Organ Donation from Burn-Injured Patients – A National Perspective” and “Expression of Matrix Metalloproteinase-7 in a Swine Model of Human Skin Wound Healing and Scar Formation” respectively. Dr. Travis andDr. Jeffrey Shupp attended the conference and represented MedStar.

Nick Prindeze, BS was awarded a travel grant by the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS) to support his attendance to the 2014 Annual Conference where he will present his work entitled “LIGHT THERAPY ELICITS A DOSE-DEPENDENT ANTI-INFLAMMATORY RESPONSE IN A HUMAN FULL-THICKNESS SKIN ANALOG”. The award covers all travel expenses for his podium presentation in Pheonix, AZ in April 2014.
