American Burn Association Meeting-2015

Members of the Burn and Surgical Research Team represented The Burn Center, MedStar Washington Hospital Center, and MedStar Health Research Institute at the 47th Annual Meeting of the American Burn Association (ABA) April 21-24 in Chicago, IL. Presentations, awards, and participation were as follows: Bonnie Carney was honored with the Albert T. McManus Award for Burn Microbiology Best Paper at the ABA 47th Annual Meeting. Shawn Tejiram MD, Lauren Moffatt PhD, and Jeffrey Shupp MD attended the 35thAnnual Meeting of the Surgical Infection Society which took place from April 15-18 in Westlake Village, CA. Presentations Update: March 2015

Shawn Tejiram, MD presented a poster at the 2015 All Surgeon's Day Conference held March 7, 2015 at the Hyatt Regency in Washington, DC. This conference is the DC Chapter’s meeting of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Tejiram’s poster was on the use of MRSA screening nasal swabs to determine management and predict outcomes in burn patients.
