Taryn Travis, MD was awarded the first ever ABA Archives Committee “ABA History Manuscript Grant”. The recognition comes with a monetary award intended to support one year of research on the subject area described in the proposal, which is to have historical importance to burn care or the ABA. Dr. Travis’ proposal was on “Advances in Burn Care Surrounding WWII”. The resulting manuscript will be published in the Journal of Burn Care and Research and is to be presented by the author at next year’s ABA meeting.

Jeffrey Shupp, MD received the ABA Traveling Fellowship Award, which is given to the “best physician or postdoctoral fellow who has given evidence of a continuing interest and productivity in the field of burn care, teaching, or research.” The funding from the award is intended to support travel that enhances the individual’s expertise and experience in their field.
